How did you use media technologies in construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

I have used a lot of different types of technology in my research, Planning and evaluation. Firstly in my research I mainly used the internet to research different camera angles and the types of genres.
Website such as www.mediaknowall.com/camangles.html has lots of information on camera angles. Also websites like http://www.filmsite.org/genres.html have detailed descriptions of each film genres and really helped me decide what type of genre would be most affective for my trailer. This also helped me find which genre would have a niche market.

In the filming of our trailer we used a Panasonic HDC-SD5 HD camera, although we do not have HD DVD discs so the camera is not used to its full potential but this camera is still a very high quality camera. This will still help me product high quality footage.

Whilst editing we used an Apple Mac this makes editing really easy, and there are more affects that are available that are standard to Mac than there is to Windows Movie maker. Apple Imovie that sound affect that are free to use now again this make the research and planning much easier when you know what sound affects are available to use. Below is a picture of what Imovie looks like.

We used websites such as Facebook, YouTube and Blog Spot you show our research. Facebook is a really good source and helps to get me positive feedback off family and friends although this can be a problem because some family and friends don’t always give you honest feedback. Now with websites such as YouTube this is much different as my product is shown to a world wide bases so more people are able to comment on it and because they don’t know you then will give honest feedback. The website BlogSpot is the website that we used to show a current stream of information. We wanted to use this website because we felt that it would show our research in the most affective method.

Prism Video Converter is a program that allows me to convert Apple Mac MP4 files into “.avi” which I can then use at home on my home laptop this enables me to deconstruct my film trailer and see how it develops and challenges conventions of a real media product.
